The Fall 2022 Anime Season is right around the corner. Who doesn't like Fall? The smells of pumpkin and cinnamon are in the air. The changing color of the leaves on the trees. The awesome anime that is coming out to close out the year. All of these things are what make Fall great. We asked the Secret Anime Club and Team Imouri what anime they wanted to watch for Fall. With our further delay, here is our list of anticipated shows.
Let's Saw Some Demons
Chainsaw Man
We have talked about this anime in the past. After some delays, it is finally here. Secret anime club member Wok and Jay, all of Team Imouri, heck, everyone in the anime community is looking forward to this show. Here is a brief synopsis of the series.
Denji has a simple dream—to live a happy and peaceful life, spending time with a girl he likes. However, this is a far cry from reality as the yakuza force Denji into killing devils to pay off his crushing debts. Using his pet devil Pochita as a weapon, he is ready to do anything for a bit of cash.
Unfortunately, he has outlived his usefulness and is murdered by a devil in contract with the yakuza. However, in an unexpected turn of events, Pochita merges with Denji's dead body and grants him the powers of a chainsaw devil. Now able to transform parts of his body into chainsaws, a revived Denji uses his new abilities to quickly and brutally dispatch his enemies. Catching the eye of the official devil hunters who arrive at the scene, he is offered work at the Public Safety Bureau as one of them. Now with the means to face even the toughest of enemies, Denji will stop at nothing to achieve his simple teenage dreams.
Check out the show airing on Crunchyroll on October 12.
A Wholesome Family Anime
Spy x Family
The second core of Spy x Family is airing on Crunchyroll on October 1. Team Imouri's Ryan, Morgan, and Brad are looking forward to this fun, wholesome anime. The best way I can summarize this show is that a spy, an assassin, and a psychic child all have to live together as a family where no one knows each other's true identity and forms a close bond. It is a great show, and if you haven't checked out the first core, you can go to Crunchyroll to watch it.
A Hero's Return
My Hero Academia Season 6
The return of My Hero Academia starts on October 1 on Crunchyroll. Team Imouri's Morgan is super excited about the show. The series continues with Deku's journey to become the greatest hero of them all.
Twitter Is Going To Hate Her Even More
Uzaki-chan Wants To Hang Out Season 2
Team Imouri's Joe can't wait to watch Uzaki-chan Wants To Hang Out, season 2. The show follows Uzaki Hana as she relentlessly teases her sempai into submission. Hijinks ensue as they both grow closer together. This show airs on October 1st on Crunchyroll.
There Is Something Cool About Mysterious Doors
Suzume's Door-Locking
Did you know that Team Imouri's Ryan is a huge Makoto Shinkai fan? Fans are not the word I would use; more like his idol. The Director of the famous Your Name and 5cm Per Second is coming out with another movie. Here is a summary of the movie.
Suzume, a 17-year-old girl who lives in a quiet town in Kyushu, encounters a traveling young man who tells her, "I'm looking for a door." She follows after him and discovers a weathered door in ruins in the mountains as if it were the only thing left standing from a collapse. As if drawn by something, Suzume reaches for the door...
Before long, doors open one after another in various parts of Japan. As disasters come from the far side of the doors, the open doors must be closed.
The stars, the setting sun, and the morning sky—in that place she wandered into, there was a sky that seemingly blended all the time. Guided by the mysterious doors, Suzume's "door-locking journey" begins.
The movie is set to premiere on November 11.
A Classic Is Making A Comeback
Urusei Yatsura!
Team Imouri's Morgan is excited about this classic comeback. The original anime was released on October 14, 1981. 41 years later, yes, you heard right, 41 years later, to the day, Urusei Yatsura is making a comeback on October 14. Here is a summary of the show.
Not much is notable about the lecherous Ataru Moroboshi, but his extraordinary bad luck sticks out like the horns in an alien's head. When Earth is threatened by a fleet of alien invaders known as the Oni, Ataru is selected to represent humanity in a duel against one of them. It's a stroke of rare luck for Ataru that the duel is, in fact, a game of tag and that his opponent is Lum, daughter of the Oni's leader, who places her personal dignity above victory—as Ataru finds out by seizing Lum's bikini top and with it, victory.
However, misfortune kicks in again when Lum mistakes Ataru's promise to marry his girlfriend, Shinobu Miyake, as she desires to wed Lum herself and decides she prefers the idea. Wielding her influence as an alien princess, she moves in with him. Forced to deal with the consequences of his womanizing ways, Ataru must balance his crumbling relationship with Shinobu while keeping Lum happy while flirting with every woman he meets.
How Long Can Eternity Last?
To Your Eternity Season 2
Another great anime on team Imouri's radar is To Your Eternity, season 2. The first season was complex, thought-provoking, emotional, and a delight to experience. The first season follows a strange being that can shapeshift into any creature or human he has experienced emotions with during his life as he travels throughout the world in search of something. Check it out on Crunchyroll on October 23.
