Summer Anime 2021 Must Watch from Team Imouri and Friends

Hey there, it's Joe, aka Miengetsu. Summer is here, and what better way to celebrate the Summer Season is with great anime. This Summer is going to be hot. We see a return of some very popular anime like Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime and much more. We also get some new sizzling titles like Re-Main, Aquatope of White Sand, and The Duke of Death and His Maid. We asked some of Team Imouri and friends about the anime they are looking forward to this Summer.

 

It's Slime Time

Our friend Morgan has been a die-hard fan of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime since it debuted. When the spinoff show Slime Diaries came out, she was also very ecstatic. But the wait is over. Season 2 Part 2 is set to premiere on July 6th, and it promises to pull no punches. If you haven't heard about That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, give it a watch before the season 2 part 2 begins. You won't be disappointed. Who doesn't love an excellent overpowered MC isekai?

Maids Plus Dragons Equal Fun

One of our Secret Anime Club members, Kouhai, is looking forward to Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S. What's not to love about Tohru and Kobayashi. It's fun, lighthearted, and full of crazy antics, all in a slice of life package. We get to see the return of our favorite dragon maid and all her crazy friends. Plus, we need to find out about the new dragon Ilulu and why she started hanging with Kobayashi. The anime is set to begin on July 8th. I'm sure Kouhai and the rest of us are all excited for this to return.

Cooling Off With Water Sports

Another Team Imouri friend, Brad, is looking forward to Re-Main's new anime, set to release on July 3rd. Not much is known yet about this anime. We know that it centers around Minato Kiyomizu, a boy who quits are playing water polo after an accident. This is about Minato coming back to water polo now that he is in high school as he regains his love for the sport. This looks to be a great anime to beat that summer heat, and plus, who doesn't love an awesome sports anime.

Swimming With The Fishes

I am no stranger to slice-of-life anime. I love a great story, especially if it's a love story. Aquatope of White Sand premiers on July 9th and tells the story of Kukuru Misakino, a high school girl working in an aquarium that is on the verge of shutting down. She meets a fallen idol by the name of Kuka Miyazawa, and bonds start to slowly form. I am very much looking forward to this slice of life anime, and it'll be a nice treat to beat the Summer here.
